The 13th edition of the Souper gastronomique brought together a record crowd of 665 guests who raised $827,902 for the benefit of health, an amount never equalled for this benefit activity held last night at the Sherbrooke Exhibition Center.
The guests were plunged into a fun and burlesque universe, combining cabaret from the Roaring Twenties and drag queens!
One of the highlights of this evening was the presence of the actor Normand D'Amour who embodied, for a moment, his famous character Dr. Pascal St-Cyr from the show STAT, and then invite real caregivers to join him on stage. Sixty people, doctors and nurses, stepped forward to thank the donors to thunderous applause. Dr. Simon Bérubé, cardiologist, explained how donations to the Fondation du CHUS transform patient care and Aurélie Caron-Julien, an ex-pediatric oncopediatric patient who is now a nurse, touched the hearts of the guests with her inspiring career.
The amounts collected during this evening will be invested by the CHUS Foundation for projects aimed at meeting health needs and continuously improving the care offered to the population of Estrie.
This edition of the 13E Gourmet dinner was a presentation by Global Excel, Agence Immobilière IR and Desjardins in collaboration with Groupe Custeau, BMO, Construction Gératek, Groupe Lizotte, Innoplex Immobilier, PMML — Team Nick Raymond and PMML — Team Nick Raymond and Jessika Lahaie, Team Nick Raymond and Jessika Lahaie, Team Abinader Notaries, Dunton Rainville and Leprohon.
