A bright star
Cœur en tête is the story of Nathalie Buisson, the formidable dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, who was diagnosed with an incurable malignant brain tumor in 2004.
Along the way, she met Dr. David Fortin, a neurosurgeon and neuro-oncologist at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS), who gave her an early treatment to combat brain tumours.
Following the success of the first intervention, Nathalie decided to organize a benefit show in support of medical research into brain cancer. And so it was that Cœur en tête, a benefit event featuring dancers from all over the world, was presented twice, in 2006 and 2009.
In 2013, Nathalie passed away, only to shine brighter in the hearts of all those she touched: her children, her family, her fellow dancers, her admirers. The École supérieure de ballet du Québec paid tribute to Nathalie by naming a dance studio in her memory.
Research offers hope, but...
As for us, we are pursuing its mission to enable more and more adults and young adults to glimpse hope after a diagnosis of brain cancer, one of the most virulent. Funding for brain cancer research remains a challenge, and this type of cancer is considered an orphan disease. In Quebec, there are very few university research projects focusing on this disease, due to a lack of funding.
The CHUS Neuro-Oncology Laboratory remains active, and is one of the few to continue introducing clinical research projects and new treatment approaches to patients suffering from this terrible disease, which is why it is so important.

Our team has become so well known that it treats patients from all over the country, and even from other countries. In fact, in 2022, we were approached by the National Research Council of Canada to establish a formal partnership in the search for new treatments for brain tumors.
Your contribution to this research fund enables our team to continue our work and develop innovative and unique treatments.
Donate to Mr. Bertrand Hould's fundraiser, which will go to the Fonds Coeur en tête!
So thank you in advance for your generous support and for helping to keep hope alive.
