The Mois des bébés plantes, created by well-known horticulturist Mélanie Grégoire, is back for its fifth edition throughout the month of March. Once again this year, this impactful campaign is raising funds for neonatal research and care!

It was in 2020, following the birth of her son Laurent, a premature baby who spent over two months in the hospital, that Mélanie Grégoire decided to get involved in her own way. Her determination and passion led to the creation of the Baby Plant Month, which now contributes to the development of premature babies and helps them grow up healthy.
"I am proud to once again commit myself to this cause, which deserves even more recognition. Year after year, thanks to public participation, the funds raised during Baby Plant Month help improve neonatal units across the province and continuously support research."
— Mélanie Grégoire, General Director of Serres St-Élie
According to Naître et grandir, premature births have significantly increased over the past 25 years and now account for 8% of births in Quebec—more than 6,000 children per year. Premature babies can spend several weeks in the hospital, a particularly difficult time for families. Last year, 288 babies required neonatal care at the CHUS.
