As part of the major 2018-2022 fundraising campaign, Forage FTE Drilling is donating $100,000 to the CHUS Foundation to participate in the acquisition of an additional linear accelerator for the radiation therapy department at Hôpital Fleurimont. This new device will make it possible to increase accessibility to services for customers in Estrie.
Linear accelerators allow for versatile treatments adapted to each patient and can be used to treat various types of cancer, such as breast or thyroid cancer. “At Hôpital Fleurimont, there are already four nuclear accelerators, but they are used daily and at their maximum capacity currently. The acquisition of a new device is planned soon, thanks to donors such as Forage FTE Drilling, which will make it possible to treat more patients every day and reduce the time needed to meet demand,” clarifies Martin Clermont, Executive Director of the CHUS Foundation.
For the Sherbrooke company, this commitment to the CHUS Foundation demonstrates its support for the cause. “For several years, Forage FTE Drilling, through its division F. Lapointe & Fils, has been serving customers in Estrie, and it is important for us to give back to this beautiful community. The CHUS Foundation allows the realization of several projects that benefit all of us, our families and our employees. Being able to demonstrate our concrete support for the Foundation's mission is crucial for the company, especially by contributing to the acquisition of a technological device that allows effective treatments against cancer,” says Yanic Bernier, President and CEO of Forage FTE Drilling.
Forage FTE Drilling specializes in various types of drilling in Canada, but also in Africa, the United States and South America. The company has experienced strong growth for several years and is developing internationally in terms of mineral drilling. With its head office located in Sherbrooke, it employs several residents of Estrie, and it is important for it to give back to the community that contributes to its growth.
